Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Peppers Craigieburn Resort in Bowral was a mixed bag, thanks to the incessant rain and unexpected solitude from friends' cancellations. The friendly staff went above and beyond, always ready to assist whenever I had room issues. The food at the restaurant was wonderfully satisfying, making up for the less-than-stellar view from my window, which was more roof than garden. Despite its heritage charm and comfortable sitting areas that beckoned after a long day, I did find the price-over $400 for one night-hard to justify. Nevertheless, the great water pressure in the shower felt like a small luxury. While I didn't get to indulge in the local Highland Wine Tours, the dining experience gave me a taste of the region's renowned produce, reminding me of the culinary delights I often seek in my travels across the Middle East and beyond.
